These items will go to Marce Jadey’s Paper and Pencils for A Cause project.

The beneficiary of the project are students of Estrella Village Elementary School. There are at total of 186 students attending the  school at the moment:

Kindergarten 16 boys, 16 girls – 32

Grade 1 -3 – 77

Grade 4-6 – 77

They need the following school supplies. :

Paper/ Notebooks
Pencils/ Pens
Picture books for the Pre schoolers
Elementary books
School bags/ any bags that can be used for this purpose (doesn’t need to be new as long as it’s usable)
Chalks
Blackboard Eraser
Crayons
Children Scissors
Pencil sharpeners
Markers
Working Computers

My sick boy scout

My son participated in the Institutional Camp 2011 at their school last Saturday. He was chosen as troop leader for a certain number of students in the elementary level. They spend the night at the school ground doing a lot of activities around the camp fire. I let him bring a plastic mat just in case the school won’t provide a mat to sleep on. I was thinking of my son all through the night not because the place isn’t surrounded by metal buildings or isn’t safe enough for kids to stay at night, but because he was not feeling well. I’m afraid that his cold will turn from bad to worse. True enough he came home with a severe cough. My son is still sick until now. We had a follow up check up early today and the pediatrician said he has pneumonia.

Flowers for teachers

It’s a common practice among kids to give something to their teachers on Teacher’s Day to show their appreciation to people who serve as their second parent when they are at school and far away from home. My kids, for example, would give flowers to their adviser. For just a minimum amount, they can purchase a stem of red rose from a vendor right outside the school gate. Some moms elsewhere could use coupons for proflowers to buy a bouquet of lovely flowers for their child’s teacher. It’s a sweet gesture, but no matter how many stems of flowers would it be, it’s the thought that counts.
